What's the best/quickest way up? This is the most asked question at Sugarcamp and we hope this route helps. You can access the start of this route from Reclamation loop, or from the campground connector. As alternative from the campground, you can choose to climb Briar Pit to the Fern Gully entrance instead of Reclamation Loop.

When you get to Burly Man, be sure to take the express routes for the quickest path. They are outlined on the route, but not listed in the included "trails on route" list. These express routes are signed on the trail. When you see the hiking trail connector and stairs to the overlook, you can choose to hike a bike this or proceed on Burly Man. If you proceed, be prepared for some tough switchback climbs. If you take the hike a bike route, enjoy the overlook and then proceed across the bridge back onto Burly Man for the remaining route.

Once to the top of Burly Man, you can proceed to Feathered Indian to access the other side of the mountain, or go to the water tower and the Sugarcamp Mountain Trailhead. There is year round water at the trailhead.
