It is not officially closed on the Denbigh website - so likely just the farmer not wanting gates to be touched. Maybe access to/from the byway via the Bodfari bridleway for the time being just to be courteous?

To be more specific - I live close to here and know the farmer. Although some locals are great, some are very hostile to visitors and have called the police on some hikers and bikers passing through. The lowest portion of the aifft track goes straight through the farmers yard - and anyone using it although technically having right of way will be extremely unwelcome during the covid lockdown. Access via the bodfari bridleway will avoid any ride becoming an unpleasant one.
