Access is near the Barrels Fountain off hwy 1. Initial climb from trail head at highway 1 is moderately difficult then the trail is green to Pemex connector. Nice views and good climbing access to Pemex ridge via pemex connector or to Playground loop. Pemex Ridge has three climbing bypasses making this an out and back ride to the Escorpion trail. Great as a bike or hike.

Fairly packed from foot and bike traffic Wish the motos would stay off our trails. They make it very loose and rocky.
