      Good ride from the coast to Big Basin and Back. As always, heading down Middle Ridge is easier than going up.

      Friend rode this today and said all trees had been cleared.

      About 60 trees down ion Chalks in the 1.5 mile stretch from about mile 2-3.5. It is very difficult to pass. You must lift bike over, under, and through large and small trees. Not sure if this will be cleaned up soon as Whitehouse Canyon Road between Gazos Creek Road and Chalks has some washouts making it difficult to impossible for Park Trucks to get through. Bikers/hikers can get through.
