This was part of the old Coyote Loop Trail. This section is mostly in maple forest and well shaded. It's a relatively easy climb and makes a great loop with Sufferin Succotash or Looney Tunes.

Themccarthyfarm
The Cutthroat Switchbacks is open with a new road crossing. Go right (100 yards) when you hit the huge dirt road and look for the signs that will put you back on the trail.

Yes the upper 3/4 of the cutthroat trail is closed due to construction. I sure hope they get it opened back up soon since it's an important trail for great loop opportunities!

Cutthroat uphill completely blocked by dozers actively pushing trees down maybe 1/2 mile before Looney Tunes. Also 2 yellow tapes at south ends of Wile E. loop (easy to cross) and Succotash (tree blockage).
