Deerfoot trail is one of a trio of trails in the vicinity of Devil's Elbow. Deerfoot is a moderate blue/black trail that incorporates significant rock gardens, making it more technically challenging than the nearby Devil's Drop trail.
Deerfoot is a great descent, with many rock gardens and swooping turns between trees. Experienced riders will find fun opportunities to gap and link together rock gardens to find extra style, flow, and pumps. The switchbacks on this trail are fairly wide and exposure is minimal. In conjunction with the Seneca trial, this is a great descent from the parking lot to Devil's Elbow, where one can set up shuttles If climbing out of Devil's Elbow back to the top, Devil's Drop is the shortest and smoothest (but steep) way back up the hill. However, Deerfoot is also a great technical climb!
