This little section really has 2 parts. The very steep narrow singletrack which goes down to a gully and pitches up and over a fun little rock section to the saddle. Then there is the trail up to the final peak and monument. The last section usually has hikers, but is short and you can see the whole trail. I would avoid the last section to the top on weekends or expect a lot of hikers. You can ride it back up to the saddle, there is one hike-a-bike section and then you just need really good cardio to make it up to the knoll.
