Gahnia Mountain Bike Track
IMBA rated: More difficult (blue)
Length: 2.15 km
Direction: One way
Recommended: Experienced mountain bike riders with good skills.

This is a one way, single width mountain bike track, to be ridden in the direction shown. Riders will find it challenging because it has variable surfaces and obstacles. Some steep sections have drop offs. Keep to the formed track and report any damage or track widening with reference to the nearest way marker.

Filter section: the first 50 m of this track has been designed to test if your bike handling skill is at the level needed for tracks rated ‘more difficult’. If you find you are not yet competent at all the challenges in this section, then do not proceed any further along the track. It is permitted to go back up the track to the start from this section only. Do not cut through the bush to exit the track.

Beautiful track but no flow at all and not smooth, it is nearly a trial zone!

For one of the first purpose built trails in the national parks this trail is a real disappointment if you are into trails with flow.

If you like techy trails with no flow and off camber cornering you are in heaven!

probably more of a black run than a blue

Yep this trail is 100% rock scrambling with some excellent roll-down's and super tricky off camber and/or technical traverses. No flow and all hard work and thats why it's superb for what it is!
Try to master it by not putting a foot down. I find that with speed comes something almost resembling Flow but not in a Rotoua kind of way.

Glad they have have upgraded this to a black diamond trail...whilst a lot of it is maybe blue the entrance to the trail is definitely black and I have seen several riders go over the bars not reading the trail properly and going in too hot at the top. certainly no flow but heaps of fun if you like techy ups and downs

Did this on Sunday with my son. I feel I am a fairly reasonably experienced rider but this track does not really flow or allow any room for error or hesitation. To ride this you will have to be very fit and a very accomplished rock/step climber. I would rate this as a Black run.
