Hickory Mountain Loop can be done from either direction. Counter-clockwise is a less technically difficult climb. There is a shaded area to stop at the top before you head back down the trail. Each separate end of the loop connects to Ridgeline Trail.

still a good trail overall but they smoothed over the last section of the trail counter clockwise and it's much less fun now
