Hickory Mountain Loop can be done from either direction. Counter-clockwise is a less technically difficult climb. There is a shaded area to stop at the top before you head back down the trail. Each separate end of the loop connects to Ridgeline Trail.

Dry and a some kitty litter but overall excellent. Vegetation is wide (great for people sensitive to poison ivy) and no trees down.
