An alternate way down the Hurl, this is also know as the Western Portal. Starts with a gentle ridge ride, and then plunges down the SW face of the bluff with steep and loose switchbacks. Rideable, but not as fun as staying on the Hurl itself. As a climb, it would be pure hike-a-bike until reaching the top of the bluff (Dwight Robertson). If skidding down rim deep gravel switchbacks sounds fun, you'll love this trail. The views from the top of the initial descent make this trail worth doing once.

Yes the switchbacks on the way down we're not as rewarding considering the trek we had to do on the way up. Very dry and lots of loose dirt. Most likely will not ride this trail again.
