Lightning Switch

This trail is a great climbing trail, and though it is bi-directional, it is not great coming down. The starting switchbacks are very tight and along a steep hillside, so you have to take them slow. As a climbing trail it is an excellent way to get to Ghost Flats. The initial climb is very tough physically but the trail is typically buff. It takes some skill to make the tight turns, but you get some good altitude quickly. There are resting sections where the terrain rolls nicely, but there are also some sustained climbing sections that will really test your climbing endurance.

The switchbacks provide beautiful views of Cedar City and the surrounding terrain, and these views just get better and better as you climb higher.
