This trail is a great climbing trail, and though it is bi-directional, it is not great coming down. The starting switchbacks are very tight and along a step hillside, so you have to take them slow. As a climbing trail it is an excellent way to get to Ghost Flats. The initial climb is very tough physically but the trail is typically buff. It takes some skill to make the tight turns, but you get some good altitude quickly. There are resting sections where the terrain rolls nicely, but there are also some sustained climbing sections that will really test your climbing endurance.

The switchbacks provide beautiful views of Cedar City and the surrounding terrain, and these views just get better and better as you climb higher.

Only issue was some old potholes bits from people hiking it when wet. Few loose spots but no big deal. Totally rideable up and down. Killer workout.

A little rough with horse use but could get smoothed out with enough bike use. The switch backs at the beginning are killer.

New trail, still settling in. Someone ride a horse up and down it in extreme mud so there are a lot of rough sections. This will probably clear up with time.
