Edgewood Preserve Mountain Bike Trail
About 5.5 miles. (update 12/14 added 8 miles of optional loops)
Level and Description:
Beginner to intermediate double track and single track trails. Additional advanced options as well.
This trail is adopted by CLIMB volunteers.
It is improving every year thanks to many supporters.
We are part of The Stewards of Edgewood Preserve and are partnered with NY DEC and the Town of Babylon to clean up and improve the preserve.
When this trail was first opened to mountain bikers, we used mostly fire roads and paved roads. Now we were able to aquire permission to expand and re-route the trails to include double track and single track trails. You will find this trail to be a great workout for those of you that live or work nearby.
It's also a great place to take your kids for a ride on the old abandoned roadway or the main loop...it's a unique experience.
Saves you gas and driving time...burn calories not carbon!

Directions to trailhead parking:
Take 495 to exit 52 Commack Road and head south for about two miles. Look on the east side for the parking lot and the brown and yellow DEC sign. There is also a covered pavilion with picnic tables underneath. Additional parking is located north along Commack Rd to Otsego Park or along Burlington Rd. Cross the street and bike down the sidewalk back to Edgewood. Be careful along the street because people speed here.
