Access from Keremeos Creek Forest Service Road and comes out on the Grandmothers Trail on the ski hill. The climb out of moose valley is challenging and there is possible avalanche area crossing when you go through Cougar Bowl. The trail is often not set between the end of moose valley and the skinning trail to the ski trail but if you stick to the old road going up and to the right it is fairly intuitive.

Just did the loop January 10, 2021. We are mediocre snowshoers - this was a bit dicey with the trail across the snow slope not showing awhile after leaving the Moose Hut. We were worried about avalanche - could the trail not be blazed in the trees above the ridge rather than right across it? Very limited markings - you would be best to go with a local who has lots of experience and knows this trail. Otherwise, from Apex parking lot to hut and then return e same way seems a way safer plan in more snow. Took us 4.5 hours including 15 minute lunch break and about half an hour of finding lost trail in fog and deep snow. Take trail forks with you!!! In the end a great workout and beautiful.

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
