The Yukon’s all-mountain classic: starting in the alpine near the historic Mountain Hero mine and stone house, the trail follows the path of a 1905 mule trail built to haul construction materials for the Mountain Hero tramway. Mandatory Direction of Travel for Bikes: One-way. **Please note: the route to Mountain Hero is a technically challenging mining road with steep climbs and loose, cobbly sections.

Mostly dry, a few remaining snow patches on the descent. No trees down and the lower section is still pretty well brushed out.

Agree with below this is a looong road of rocks and gravel. My ebike made it bearable, the views made it brilliant! I got shuttled to the top of the start and picked up on the highway. That helped for sure. If you’re a hardcore rider it’s not much bang for your buck. But if you’re looking for an epic, all-day ebike ride it’s the one! I stopped to take lots of photos and at the summit made a short detour for the extra viewpoint south.

Rod this today. On a Trek Rail ebike. It’s a tough climb even with the assist. Always wanting more help, but holding the battery usage at bay. It’s a grind.
Buuut. It’s an amazingly beautiful adventure! The views are stunning! The trail is quite challenging, navigating the loose rocks and such. There’s a couple creek crossings and more than a few snow patches. Super worth the adventure! I’m glad I have an ebike, it could be soul crushing on an analogue. I’d like to bring mine and try! More snacks required.

Doing this loop without a shuttle is absolutely brutal. I give the whole thing 3 stars, it's just so much steep loose bs that's barely rideable on the way up.

Trail itself has amazing views but otherwise standard high alpine riding. Do it so you'll end up cruising the hwy back at sunset

We hope you've been enjoying Trailforks!
