Built long ago by motorcycle riders, MX trail became a favorite of local mountain bikers, and ultimately it was adopted by the Forest Service as a non-motorized trail in 2021 as part of the Gateway Phase 2 project.
A very short trail, the fun on MX ends almost as fast as it starts. The trail descends quickly, with rolling, flowy terrain blended with berms, rollers and few jumps. The trail finishes out with several jumps, a rock feature and large berm, and then a small sized step up.
The trail is often lapped by climbing Old McCloud Rd, or as a larger loop with Cub Creek and Bear Springs trails.
Access the top of the trail via Bear Springs, or Old McCloud Rd.
