This fun singletrack trail is good if you live in North Raleigh and only have time for a quick ride. There is a little skills area consisting of an elevated bridge, a small gap jump, rock gardens, skinnies, and logs. The rest of the trail has some fun little downhill sections with dips and turns.
Family Friendly: The trail offers some fun downhill sections that are gentle, yet still a blast for kids to ride. And if all else fails, a nearby playground will easily keep them entertained.
If you need to get in a ride in less than 30 and you live or work in North Raleigh, this is a fun little park. The trail feels short but they packed a lot of fun into it. With lots of little dips and flow that traverses up and down the hillside next to a creek, you're sure to stay entertained. Riding these east to west, or doing the loops clockwise, makes the trail's segments downhill.
There isn't really any one direction to go. Many of the trail's sections need to be connected by short segments of greenway. There are a lot of access points, but the best ones are the parking lot at the playground or the one up the road closer to the entrance of the park. For the loop segments, it's probably better to do them clockwise because it makes the more interesting parts of the trail flow downhill.
History & Background
As you can probably guess by the various apparati sticking out of the ground, this area used to be a working landfill. After reaching capacity, the landfill was capped and converted to a park for all to enjoy.
