mtb Members of the Benevolent Order of Alpine Meadows Trail Fairies (Upper Mountain View Chapter) have built a ~20m reroute at the very top, to get the trail out of the muddy wasteland that formed after last year's fire thinning. Thank you @snowdan for providing design consultation services earlier this summer.

mtb Clear of snow other than at the very bottom after the road crossing. Generally minimal damage from last year's fire thinning work (great job by Lil’wat Forestry Ventures) except for the very top section which is now a super muddy wasteland after having a bunch of machines move through the area. Hey @snowdan if you need some labour to help repair this top section, I know that members of the Upper Mountain View chapter of the Alpine Meadows Benevolent Order of Trail Fairies would be happy to help out. reporter Variableview

mtb There are at least a half dozen downed trees on this short trail, all in a single section so it wasn’t too big of annoyance, but still not great. Dryview

mtb Fuel thinning work on No View, originally scheduled for June 19, has been delayed until August. Exact start date TBD.

The RMOW is conducting fuel thinning in Rainbow in which will affect the No Flow Zone trails between Rainbow and Emerald, and the Westside - Rainbow mountain bike and hiking trails. Expected end date for crews is early fall.

Active tree-falling and heavy machinery use creates a hazard for the public.

This is important work to reduce the ability of fire to spread from the forest into the community and vice versa, and to make wildfires easier to fight. In fuel thinning, mature and deciduous trees are left, while lower branches are pruned, and unmanaged second-growth trees, ground brush and debris are removed.
