Not for the feint-hearted Full of rocks, roots, twists and turns, short technical descents and tough steep pinches. Great views over the lake towards town though....
This is a difficult, old school technical cross country trail - don't expect to clear it the first (or tenth) time without putting your foot down. Challenge accepted I hear you say? That's the spirit!

Riding orbital is always an adventure with beautiful scenery and plenty of technical challenges. All obstacles and terrain are negotiable, but stringing them all together is a different story. Legend goes that no brave soul has ever made it thru without the odd little dab of the foot.

Start of Orbital has been covered by old branches etc. not sure if this is an attempt to close the trail or not. Alternate entry is via the gully to the left of the original entrance.

Very technical trail for advanced riders. Plenty of rocks and challenging up/down terrain. Not for the faint hearted but is a great challenge to ride!

DO NOT RIDE if you have any intentions of fun. I ride double blacks and this was by far the worst trail I have ever ridden. Was not a MTB track was barely even a hiking track. IF YOU want to waste your time and walk half of the goat track then go for it. Trail should not be listed as a MTB track in my opinion.

That's a bit rough! Sorry that you didn't enjoy it, but every track has it's place.... Orbital is one of the original trails in the area - it's an old school technical cross country trail and that's how people like it. It's definitely a challenge, the brewery wouldn't have offered a keg of beer for the first person to ride it without putting a foot down (with video evidence) if it weren't difficult. FYI the keg has been claimed.
We'll update the trail description though, just to ensure that people understand what they're getting into.
