This trail is mostly doubletrack, with some old pavement on the western side. There are sections that are rutted or sandy and are not recommended for brand-new riders.
***Please note that the official DEC map takes you down a section of trail marked "No Bicycles," and signage shows it as a horse trail. To avoid this section, just follow the white bicycle trail signs around this one area.
