Aug 1, 2024 @ 12:02am Aug 1, 2024 | mtb Rode the entire Powerslave trail today. Overall the trail is in great shape, there is not a single tree down on the trail. Thanks to the people who cleared them! The dirt in the top section still has a little bit of moisture in it, making for prime conditions in terms of tackiness at the moment. Then, the bridge is still broken, but it's fairly easy to go around it and there's no water/mud underneath. The fact that it's broken does not matter much in terms of flow because anyway it's necessary to step off the bike to hike to the summit of Morning Mountain immediately after the bridge (it's a small 10-15 minutes hike-a-bike). After reaching the summit of Morning Mountain, the steeps leading to the lower Powerslave entrance are dry, with a fair amount of loose rocks : ride with care. The final part from the lower entrance to the start of Bear's Den is running great, the mine scree chutes are loose and steep as always. Last thing not least : the fireweed in the clearcut section near the lower entrance is at its best right now. Very pretty! | Ideal | view | |

There are 170 runners so Morning Mountain Parking lot will be very full. Runners are expected to be on course from 6am - 6pm and will be using the following trails: Bottoms Up Upper Bottoms Highballer Bear’s Den Upper Highballer Powerslave Very high Fairly High Gold Rush For the shuttle crews, runners also have a 2km segment on Gold Creek Road between Gold Rush and Silverking Road Trail.
