The overall Quemahoning (Que) Trail forms a 16-mile loop around the Quemahoning Reservoir with multiple access points. This is broken into multiple listings, split by road interruptions or access points, to provide shorter, section-specific descriptions. Descriptions are counterclockwise. Trail entrances and road crossings are marked by yellow arrows on brown posts. All segments are non-motorized and non-equestrian.

• This section extends from Slagle Hill Road to Plank Road
• There are small parking areas a few hundred feet from the Birdman Connector, at the southern crossing of Birdman Road, and about 0.1 mile north of the Plank Road crossing
• Trail veers off on the north (left) side of Slagle Hill Road between Green Bridge Road and Birdman Road.
• It crosses the lower end of Birdman (gravel) at about 0.1 mi and upper end of Birdman (dirt) at about 1.9 mi.
• Birdman to Birdman offers a good beginner/intro ride with 120’ of cumulative climb, crossing three small drainageways
• The trail generally descends for the next half mile to where the Birdman Connector veers off to the left through the pine grove, while the main trail curves to the right to begin a ¾ mile gradual climb.
• This section offers elevated views across the lake after leaf drop but you’ll need to keep your eyes on the trail for this steep sidehill benchcut.
• Initial downhill remains on singletrack to a drainageway where it then follows an abandoned logging road for a fast half mile downhill. Be alert for drainage dips.
• A significant stream crossing at the bottom is rideable but may be deep in wet weather.
• Where the trail crosses a few fisherman trails, there are a couple roadside parking spaces if you want access from here.
• The trail then skirts the shoreline before gradually climbing to and continuing directly across Plank Road.

There is an unmarked fork about 1/3 through this segment. Stay right to continue
