This trail is best ridden either early or late in the season. Out in the sage brush, it is one of the earliest trails to dry off in a rainstorm. In the Spring, the trail is closed until May 1 as an elk refuge. To access this trail, park in the parking lot with the semi-permanent ATV ramp and Forest Service bulletin board. The trail is across the road and through a brown spring loaded, step over gate. This trail is closed to any motorized traffic. At the top of the trail it connects with Stinking Springs trail.

A very twisty, flowy and fun singletrack trail. Really a classic in the area and a must do for all. Very little shade so it's brutally hot in the summer. The cover photo on the trail forks app (above) is not of Sidewinder.

This is a really fast flowy decent, super fun. Did two laps, if you are a proficient climber it’s 20 min up and then a super fast and fun 10 min down. If you want to add to the climb you can continue up to the top and then return down and then go down sidewinder. Well worth a ride here. The trail was in amazing shape, seems like it is well maintained, even the climb doubketrack/atv Road.
