A 0.3 mi segment of P25-1 (0.2 to 0.5mi) descends about 60' and reclimbs it through s series of steep sidehill switchbacks. While the descent is fun, the climb can be a challenge for some riders. If that's you and you want to avoid the climb, take this shortcut on top the ridge.
The entrances, going either direction, are more abrupt to avoid visually impacting the flow of the main trail, so you'll need to watch for the turns. Going northbound, it splits between 2 large trees and cross over the main trail twice perpendicular before rejoining the main stem. Going downhill, southbound, the entrance is on the right, just after a cut fallen log.
