Counterclockwise is the way for us. Short technical climbs at the beginning and fun and flowy towards the end.

Great trail, we rode it counterclockwise but I think it would be more fun to ride it clockwise.

Best trail we've ridden in the st George region.. Not difficult or technical but the flow and scenery make up for any shortcomings..highly recommended!

What a great trail. Thanks to the guys at Zion Cycle for the recommendation..
I was told to ride it clockwise, but ended up doing it counter..still a great ride!!
The road up to the ride is the crux..

We recently added some reroutes on the south side climb/descent. They are really soft at the moment. Give them some time to get weathered in and they'll be perfect. We needed to open up some sight lines and worked to eliminate some of the tighter corners.

My Suunto tracked 700ft of ascent including wire Mesa access trail from west. Clockwise was great

Fantastic trail. Ride clockwise for fast flows first and not tech climbing last bit. Ride counterclockwise for Ollie fun at beginning.

Only 636 elevation climb total, not 1,400 like Trailforks states.
Great ride with stunning views. Diverse trail system with flowy stretches and technical sections

Beautiful Ride, took longer then expected. Was with a beginner group and it took a little over 3 hours went clockwise however every person that rode past was going counter clockwise.. I will be trying it counterclockwise next time. The rock sections will be much runner at The beginning instead of climbing them at the end. 4x4 or off-road cars are the only ones able to pass the last mile of dirt road. Enjoy!

Omg take me back. We rented from Zion bikes, also got a trunk rack. They were wonderful. We opted to ride up/walk crybaby hill but it was sooo worth it. This was flowy and definitely not technical. The rocks are painted with white circles to show you a clean line, which kind of felt like cheating but also made me ride over things I never thought I could. Riding counterclockwise was really nice and flowy but the reverse way would have been nice technical practice.

Truly astonished by the glowing comments and ratings on here. This trail is the definition of meh. Yes, the scenery is good, but absolutely nothing happens on this trail. Truly a beginner trail.

Def not 1,200 ft - my Garmin put it at 735 ft. Still, a great and fun trail with varying terrain and beautiful views. Did this one counter-clockwise in dry conditions. Took around 1:06 moving time.

One of the best (of many great) trails in the area. Not the most technical (Gooseberry or Guac) or the fastest (Jem) but certainly a good half day diversion. Head up and enjoy riding the loop both directions, probably
best CW first. Then pull out your chair, sandwich and cold beverage of choice and enjoy the view of Zion.

This is a great loop in Hurricane. It's a step-up from the Jem trails, but mellower than Gooseberry Mesa. It's one of my favorites in the area. I like to ride it clockwise because it has more challenging, techy bits but if you want more flow ride it counterclockwise twowheeledwanderer.com/posts/best-mountain-bike-trails-in-hurricane-utah

Agree with everyone that the elevation is way off. And we rode it counter-clockwise and had a blast!

Awesome trail. Rode it counterclockwise and had a blast. Views are unebeatable, lots of slick rock and techy features mixed in. Definitely upper intermediate skill level. The road in to wire/gooseberry is a joke, if you don't have 4 wheel drive, don't waste your time driving to these. Bike or hike to the head.

Great trail! I was surprised with how much of it is smooth and even buff dirt (60%). But it also has lots of chunk and rock rolls like Gooseberry (but not nearly as many and on average 1-3 ft ones). A beginner would likely have to dismount about 10 times. Counter clockwise provides for a flowy downhill at the end.

Really fun loop and a prettier area then Gooseberry IMO (more trees). Much credit to the builders. Intermediate rating is spot on. There are a few intermediate technical sections but it's easy to make quick work of them because this trail allows you to carry a lot of momentum.

Fun trail! The road leading to the parking lot is dicey for anything but a 4x4 with high clearance. Staying in Springdale, I only had limited time in the morning with the family van. I didn't want to drive the long way 55 minutes around. So I parked at the Bureau of Land Management lot just below Crybaby hill and rode up to the trail. It's a hard ride, but I made it to the trail parking lot in 20 minutes and less than 10 minutes on the return. If you're a glutton for punishment, it can save you a lot of time!

Awesome trail with outstanding views. Saw a jackrabbit and lots of lizards. My 11 year old son and I did the trail in the summer. Super hot, so start early. Some of the corners have a high consequence if you don't hit the line, but overall pretty calm. The drive there does not take nearly as long as GPS says. If you know what you're doing, it will take 10 minutes once you hit the dirt. Cars can make it if you take it slow and like to gamble.
