Founded in 1928, Dunbar Cycles is Vancouver’s oldest bike shop. Originally located on Dunbar Street in the West end, the business changed hands in 2008, and has grown into one of Canada’s foremost mountain bike shops in addition to offering a full range of hybrid and road bikes.

Stopped by the shop as i was mid ride as i needed some adjustments with my derailleurs...bike tech stepped away from the bike he was working on, threw my bike up on another stand, worked on it for a few minutes and fixed my issue and sent me on my way with a smile
Obviously it was a very minor fix but he didnt have to do that...he knew i was mid ride so he did me a huge favour, tuned up my derailleurs for free, and sent me on my way...

This guys are awesome. Always just pop in for something I "might" need. The store reps always have a good recommendation. An example was when I was looking for brake fluid and they recommended to look into a motorcycle shop for a better, logical, price. This kind of customer service and why I would always consider these guys first for my investment, big or small.
Nice Staff, good Selection. No room for negotiations on prices, which are pretty high compared to other shops.
And here we thought our prices were competitive
What was it that we were priced high in ?? We do have our price match policy that lots of loyal customers utilize....
Hehe, two items pop right up in my mind:
- 2013 Devinci Wilson Carbon - Dunbar's price at that time 6400 + tax --> Velocity sold it for 5700 including Tax + Fox 40 upgrade included. DC refused to mach or even lower the price.
- Other item 2014 Shimano Saint brakes - you sell it for around 300, CRC sold it at that point of time for 145 (including shipping & tax).... Same story with the price match inquiry at DC.
So please don't tell me I'm not trying to be loyal.... :-)
