The aim is to provide the riding community with a quality range of trails, whilst working with landowners towards responsible access and helping them manage their liability.

Lochaber Trail Association (LTA), aims to develop, adopt and maintain current informal trails within the Lochaber area that benefit the mountain bike community. Ingraining responsibility, teamwork and custodianship within our valued volunteer team who liaise with landowners and event organisers to increase the safety and sustainability of trails.

LTA aims to show the benefits of creating a durable network with the existing trails so they become recognised and no longer unauthorised. To improve the likelihood of their protection and further use we will carry out regular inspections and maintenance to a high standard. Subsequently local tourism will increase in conjunction with economic activity.

Members will be Informed of dig days and made aware of the benefits of shared work by creating inclusive events with positive environmental learning for all involved.

We protect the interests of mountain bikers within Lochaber and increase the sport’s profile through supporting new riders with access to venues. Whilst mindful of responsible access for all participants, the reduction of land management conflicts and environmental issues is paramount.
