The Regional District of East Kootenay is dedicated to the stewardship, development, and maintenance of public lands for year-round recreational use. Through collaboration with community partners we manage an extensive network of multi-use trails that provide safe, sustainable, and accessible outdoor spaces that enhance quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
The RDEK parks system dates back to the early 1970's when the RDEK acquired crown land at Wycliffe and Tie Lake for development as public parks; others have been added over the years and today we have a number of parks, trails and recreation facilities for the public to enjoy. Amenities include sports fields, disc golf, bocce pits, horseshoe pits, hiking and biking trails, beaches, picnic areas, fire pits, lake accesses, ball diamonds and boat launches. RDEK parks, trails and recreation facilities have something for everyone.
