Friends of Buchanan-Bear Valley is a volunteer Friends group supporting the Bear Valley Division of Buchanan State Forest in south-central Pennsylvania. The group is particularly focused on mountain biking and multi-use trail stewardship, working in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to develop, maintain, and improve sustainable trails and connections within the forest.
The volunteer organization has played an important role in the development and maintenance of Bear Valley's growing mountain-bike trail system, including Three Bears, Little Mountain, North Mountain, and Broad Mountain trails. Its work includes trail construction, maintenance, rock work, connections, and improvements that make the forest's historic and often steep terrain more accessible for modern recreational use.
