The Michigan Scholastic Cycling Association (MiSCA) is an independent Michigan nonprofit organization dedicated to developing youth mountain biking and expanding opportunities for students in grades K–12 to ride, compete, and become part of the mountain-bike community.

MiSCA brings together student-athletes, coaches, families, schools, volunteers, trail organizations, and communities throughout Michigan. Its programs provide young riders with opportunities to develop riding skills, fitness, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and responsible trail-use practices.

MiSCA is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is affiliated with USA Cycling (USAC). Through its USA Cycling affiliation, MiSCA riders can earn points toward national USA Cycling rankings and the annual USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships. A USA Cycling license is not required to participate in MiSCA events.

MiSCA is not a NICA state league. The organization considered joining the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) but chose to remain an independent Michigan organization.

Youth Mountain Bike Racing
MiSCA organizes a statewide scholastic mountain-bike racing series featuring cross-country mountain-bike events at trail systems and venues throughout Michigan. Riders compete in age- and ability-appropriate categories, providing opportunities for both new and experienced riders.

MiSCA events bring together hundreds of student riders, coaches, parents, volunteers, and supporters and introduce families to Michigan's extensive network of mountain-bike trails and cycling communities.

Teams, Coaches & Community
MiSCA supports local school and community-based mountain-bike teams and the volunteer coaches who make youth cycling possible. Its programs and resources help communities establish and maintain sustainable youth mountain-bike programs while giving students opportunities to ride and compete with their peers.

The organization is supported by a statewide volunteer network and a community committed to making mountain biking accessible to Michigan students.

Trails & Responsible Riding
MiSCA recognizes that successful youth mountain biking depends on healthy, sustainable trail systems. Its events connect young riders and their families with trail communities throughout Michigan while promoting responsible riding, trail stewardship, and respect for land managers and other trail users.

For many young riders, MiSCA provides an introduction not only to competitive cycling but to the broader mountain-bike community and the trails that support it.

Get Involved
Students, parents, coaches, schools, volunteers, trail organizations, and community partners can become part of the MiSCA community. Whether starting a team, coaching young riders, participating in races, volunteering, or supporting youth mountain biking, MiSCA provides opportunities to get involved.
