 Black Mountain Bike is easily the Go-To shop in San Diego. The only other shop in my opinion that rivals it would be Bike Bling in Escondido (due to its larger selection), but BMB far surpasses them in customer service and overall helpfulness. the BMB service department knows exactly how to fix your bike, will do it faster than anyone else, as cheap as anyone else, and wont mind to have a friendly chat during your visit. Some Retail stuff might be a couple bucks over competitors, but for the convenience and service, id pay 85 for a tire instead of 80 somewhere else.

*Note: They respond extremely well to friendly customers! If you treat them well they try to really help you out!

 This shop has excellent service. No problems at all with the shop. My only complaint is that some of the bikes (Mostly the downhill bikes) are priced above the MSRP. Even the ones that are 2 years old will still be at it or above it. Other then that they are a great shop.

 Excellent service, very knowledgeable about every discipline. Selection for gravity type riding is a little slim(low demand) but they can special order anything that's not in stock. Like phizzypops mentioned prices can be a little high however I've found them to be negotiable on price for bikes and price match on bike parts.

 grom here. I try to service and clean my own bike. i have become somewhat of a regular. If its something small like a little derailleur adjust or installing a fussy grip, they discount it. really good and helpful crew with pretty damn good prices.

 They carry a lot of good product, but the prices are a touch on the high side. They do great service though, so if you're in the area and need a good mechanic, this could be the place for you.
