Appalachia Outdoor Adventures (AOA) is a volunteer-led trail advocacy and stewardship organization serving southeastern and east-central Ohio, with a primary focus on Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Morgan, Coshocton, and surrounding counties. Since 2000, AOA has partnered with public land managers and local communities to build, maintain, and promote sustainable trail systems that showcase the region's forests, hills, and public lands.
AOA supports a wide range of non-motorized outdoor recreation, including mountain biking, hiking, trail running, paddling, climbing and rappelling, cross-country skiing, and orienteering. The organization is best known for developing and maintaining trail systems at destinations such as The Wilds, Dillon State Park, McGraw-Edison Recreation Area, Conesville Trails, and Lake Isabella, while also hosting group rides, trail workdays, skills clinics, races, and community events throughout the region. Through trail stewardship, advocacy, and partnerships, AOA continues to expand sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities across the Appalachian foothills of Ohio.
