Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) is a non-profit organization that is committed to preserve and enhance non-motorized trail access in Whatcom County through stewardship, education, and advocacy.
WMBC works with many diverse groups in and around our beautiful city of Bellingham, Washington to promote continued and expanded access for all in our vibrant community. WMBC's members are mountain bikes, hikers, equestrians, and other trail users with a passion for the outdoors and community engagement.
Founded in 1986 as the WHatcom Independent Mountain Pedalers (WHIMPs), the organization transitioned to WMBC in 2016. WMBC consists of over 1,700 members, 110 business sponsors, and 62 trail adopters. Every year WMBC coordinates thousands of volunteer hours for the many trail systems in our area, as well as youth outreach, and education.
