The Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance (CORA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit trail organization dedicated to building, preserving, and advocating for sustainable natural-surface trails throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Founded in 1996 by local mountain bikers seeking greater access to singletrack, CORA has grown into a regional organization serving mountain bikers and the broader trail community.
CORA's work encompasses trail planning, design, construction, maintenance, stewardship, advocacy, and volunteer engagement. The organization maintains more than 120 miles of natural-surface trails across numerous trail systems throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region, working in partnership with municipalities, park districts, state parks, and other public and private land managers.
CORA's trail portfolio includes major destinations such as Mitchell Memorial Forest, Mt. Airy Forest, England Idlewild Park, Harbin Park, East Fork State Park, Caesar Creek, and Hueston Woods. The organization plays an especially important stewardship role at Mitchell Memorial Forest, where it works with Great Parks to maintain and improve the mountain-bike trail system.
Trail development is supported by an active volunteer program that provides opportunities for riders and other trail users to participate in trail construction, maintenance, restoration, and stewardship. CORA also organizes group rides, trail events, educational activities, and other programs that strengthen the local riding community and promote responsible trail use.
CORA is a member organization of the Ohio Mountain Bike Alliance (OMBA), a statewide coalition of Ohio's leading mountain-bike trail organizations. Through OMBA, CORA collaborates with trail organizations throughout Ohio on sustainable trail-building practices, shared resources, statewide advocacy, and efforts to expand access to high-quality mountain-bike trails.
CORA's long-term vision extends beyond maintaining the existing trail network. The organization is working toward a substantially larger and more connected system of natural-surface trails, neighborhood bike skills areas, and regional bike parks throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Its combination of trail development, sustainable stewardship, advocacy, volunteer engagement, and partnerships with land managers makes CORA a central force in the development of the region as a destination for mountain biking and trail-based recreation.
