The Outback Trail Commission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The Outback Trail Commission and it’s members are voluntarily committed to the maintenance and construction of trails on the Outback Trail at Imagination Glen park in Portage, IN.
Since the Outback Trail is in a city park, many people assume it’s a taxpayer supported facility. In truth, while the city provides invaluable assistance by allowing us to use public land, the trail is almost entirely financed, created, and maintained by volunteer efforts organized by the Outback Trail Commission. We are an independent organization that pays building supplies, tool purchase and maintenance, and administrative costs such as web-hosting. We raise money for our activities through sponsoring events, club membership, and donations.
