Northwest CT NEMBA is dedicated to developing and maintaining access to sustainable mountain bike trails centered in the Burlington area and extending north and west into the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut. The chapter works with landowners, municipalities, and other partners to develop, maintain, and advocate for legal access to multi-use trail systems.
The chapter’s riding and trail stewardship area includes Burlington/Nassahegon, Harwinton, Cowles Park in East Granby, Nepaug State Forest, and Northfield Brook Lake, among other riding areas in Northwest Connecticut. These areas offer a variety of terrain and riding experiences, from flowing singletrack to rocky and technical trails, climbs, and descents.
Northwest CT NEMBA’s goal is to increase legal access to multi-use trail systems that link communities, support local businesses, and promote the health and well-being of the local population—all while having a ton of fun in the woods.
The chapter supports its trail community through trail construction and maintenance, advocacy, group rides, events, education, and volunteer stewardship. Riders can get involved by joining the chapter, coming out for a ride or trail workday, volunteering, or supporting its trail-building and maintenance efforts.
