Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) is a registered charity dedicated to building and maintaining sustainable trails and advocating for the trail community in the Bow Valley. Founded in 2016 by passionate local riders, CAMBA has grown into a leading trail stewardship organization working in collaboration with Alberta Forestry & Parks, the Canmore Nordic Centre, the Town of Canmore, Alberta Public Lands, Three Sisters Mountain Village and other land managers.
CAMBA recognizes the importance of great trails for locals and the positive impact mountain bike tourism has as an important part of the visitor economy and resident quality of life.
This mandate includes participation in the planning and development of a designated trail system based on industry best practices and includes:
• Participation in designing, building and maintaining trails
• Communication activities including research, fundraising, education, updates, events and promotion
• Involvement with stakeholders to advocate for, maintain and invest in a high quality local trail system
• Providing insight as subject matter experts in mountain biking during engagement activities with the community, and land managers and owners
• Being a catalyst in uniting the mountain bike and trail running community
• Enjoying high quality beverages in addition to mountain bike rides together in celebration of our sport’s culture.
