Hello Mtn Bike Lovers

Welcome to the 2017 ChainLine Cycle Kelowna Spring Classic XC mountain bike race! Below you will some find important information regarding the race.

What: XC-Olympic style cross country mountain bike race. Expect -+4-5km laps with a mix of fast open climbing, technical climbing, fast open descents and technical descents! It will be the classic Okanagan flavour, which equals loose and rocky!

Where: Rose Valley, West Kelowna. Approximate Address: 1805 Westlake Road, West Kelowna, BC. Parking information to come!

When: Sunday, April 30th, with racing starting promptly at 10am. There will be pre-riding on the marked course on Saturday, April 29th, between 11am-4pm, or Sunday before the race from 8am-9am.
Kelowna weather is generally quite nice at the end of April, but please bring appropriate Spring weather riding clothing as it can still get chilly and/or wet here that time of year.

How: Registration will be online via CCN Bikes, or in person from 8am-11am on Saturday April 29th. Race day registrations will only be allowed at the discretion of the organizers/commissaires and are not guaranteed.

Package pickup from 8am-11am Saturday, or 8am-9am Sunday.

Registration will get you entry into the race, plus a post-race meal (yum!), plus post-race prizing (yay!)!

Costs: Adults Early Bird until April 15th = $40 (Youth $35). After April 15th = $50 (Youth $45). In person = $55 (Youth $50).

Categories (may be combined depending on numbers:

Elite Men/Women (-+7 laps)

Sport Men/Women (19-29) (-+6 laps)

30+ Men/Women (-+6 laps)

40+ Men/Women (-+6 laps)

50+ men (-+6 laps)

Junior Men/Women (-+6 laps)

U17 Boys/Girls (-+5 laps)

U15 Boys/Girls (-+4 laps)

*Registrants require full UCI licenses to race except for Novice Men and Novice Women. Single Event licenses will be available for $10 and can be purchased at time of registration (online or in person).

** We are an equal opportunity race organizer (ie: genders do same amount of laps). Race distances/laps may change (depending on registration numbers, final course design, etc.) at the discretion of the organizers or the commissaires, so please check the facebook page the night before your race for final confirmation.

*** Riders (Canadian AND foreign) are HIGHLY encouraged to purchase third party health insurance that will cover their medical expenses in the event of a crash or medical emergency.
