Earlier this year, the route was super overgrown with lots of downed trees, but as of October, it's in pretty good shape for such a remote trail. It's still overgrown and brushy in sections, but not to the point that it cuts you up like it did earlier this summer. Variableview

A few downed trees here and there. Up high, there are areas where the brush is creeping in. But the real issue: for the last mile at the bottom, the brush is very thick and kinda taking over the trail. Wear pants. reporter Variableview

It is a little confusing to find the start. You have to be careful not to go through somebody's campground. Then after a few hundred yards, there's a downed tree that there's a little single track to get around. Variableview

If you start from the charity Valley East parking lot you can ride about 3 miles up and get close to the Burnside Lake intersection before there’s significant snow
