Jan 27, 2026 @ 6:31am (Antarctica/McMurdo) Jan 26, 2026 | trailrun Hero dirt. A couple of patches of snow/ice still on the west side, NBD. Lots of evidence that MTBs still frequently use the trail. I end up doing a little trail maintenance each time I run it. Like throwing starfish washed up on the beach back into the ocean. | Snow Covered | view
Dec 21, 2025 @ 6:57am (Antarctica/McMurdo) Dec 20, 2025 | trailrun There's just a couple of sections on the south and soutwest side of Ob Hill that are covered in packed snow/ice, just be careful there. The rest of the trail is hero dirt (for this trail, anyway 😀) | Snow Covered | view
Jan 1, 2025 @ 10:15am Jan 1, 2025 | trailrun About as good as it gets. Watch for baseball-sized loose boulders that are everywhere on the trail. | Ideal | view
Dec 28, 2024 @ 10:01am Dec 28, 2024 | trailrun 80% of the trail is snow-covered (powder, not pack) with knee-high drifts on the southeast side. I found it a bit challenging for trail running but it would be totally fine for hiking. | Snow Covered | view
Jan 5, 2023 @ 10:05pm Jan 5, 2023 | mtb Recent snow on the trail but there are workarounds, no worries! | Ideal | view
Jan 21, 2023 @ 10:36pm Jan 21, 2023 | trailrun Trail is in great shape. Keep your eyes on the trail. Be sure to stop running if you want to oogle the views. Golfball, baseball, and softball sized ankle rollers litter the most of the trail, so be vigilant and on the lookout for them. Lots of seals and skuas down at the point of Cape Armitage. | Ideal | view |
