Aug 13, 2020 Grasköpfl Trail Report

 Good point. I kind of thought the same when I did it, but for some reason this path is extremely popular with bikers- they like the views and overall feel of it. It is normally followed by Reitsteig, which you probably rode as well. Anyway, I will change this trail to a "hike primary" so it appears as a dotted line and people know better what to expect, namely that you have to get off your bike and push from time to time, rather than ride continuously top to bottom like a regular trail.

 I think Reitsteig is one of the best trails in the region in the S2 (possibly a few S3 spots) category and most people just flow right onto it from Grasköpfl. Sounds like you must have continued pushing the bike for a while. By the way, you can can also do Reitsteig by itself by riding up an forest road from Oswaldhütte. Also by the way, nice to see someone posting some reports on the trails in the Bavarian Alps (many of them uploaded by me) It's nice to hear what other people think and then make updates if applicable.

I didn’t do Reitsteig, as it had rained quite a lot the days before and the meadows were extremely wet. I continued to Schafreuter.
