Hwy 56 Bike Path Connector - Via Del Mar Trail Report - Very Dry - Jan 13, 2021

Major erosion, ruts are too narrow for pedals and take up the whole trail, most of the trail is unpacked sand, gets very close to the storm drain that runs next to the highway and is very easy to fall into. Nothing has been trimmed in a while there are even a few cacti close to the trail. 0/10 would not recommend unless you want to try and convince whoever owns this to do improvement. This is a hiking trail that looks like a biking trail. If you really want to go here for the view there is a good plateau area about 20 feet in, would not go any further than that. Signs also say this is private property, I get the feeling that someone just gets annoyed because some kids go camp out there every summer, (the warning sign pretty much just says to stop parking cars at the trail head), but still something to note.
