Description:
Rode trail yesterday, having hiked each end the 2 days prior to check out access/ snow. The route up from Spooner Lake (to Marlette lake) is largely clear other than small trees down across trail, can ride around or heft bike over easily- being rapidly cleared by gangs of men! Within 1/2 mile of the top/saddle, small packed snow mounds have to be hike-biked,then it's an easy push through more snow on the road down to the lake. Then on to the flat Flume trail Road around the lake- more snow drifts and rideable sections for a fun 30 mins, then onto the completely clear Flume trail itself. Stunning ride. Between miles 9-10, there are some small snow drifts to push through easily- likely to melt in a few days? Once at the Tunnel Creek end, the first 1/2 mile has a few more snow drifts to negotiate before the wonderful scenic swoop down to base. ( Pity the cafe doesn't stay open later than 4 pm on these lovely light evenings)
