Old logging road approach and trail cleared from first road creek crossing to the scree climb to the pass in the sub-alpine.
There is one huge pine down in a meadow that has to be climbed over (too big for the saw, hopefully one of the horse people carrying a large saw can get it).
From the sub-alpine, it looks like the scree climb is mostly snow free, there might still be the usual patch or two near the pass.
As it is early season, the usual wet/muddy spots still are. Some drainage work done but still more required. Most of the trail is in good shape.
LOTS of bear scat along road and on trail, make sure you are loud to avoid surprising a bear.

Easy going for the first few ks up the FSR. Once you hit the single track, expect your speed to plummet. We estimated 20% rideable to the pass... view
