Native Trail Report - Ideal - Dec 10, 2021

this is not "closed" it's just a bit overgrown, mostly ferns. there's one big dead tree across the trail which you can leg it over [it might just disintegrate with a few swift wallops] then another much smaller tree with a small unnecessary ride around. the trail seems to end at a DOC/trappers track which forks left and right [I went left] and changes characteristics dramatically into just a clay/grass track. currently this is NOWHERE NEAR a double black, at a stretch it's dark blue but only due to the remoteness and occasional exposure, the actual trail is blue. the very north end is just a clay road with no name down to Marua Road. some of the uphill sections weren't rideable for me, too many ruts and one section has a decent sized hole. will I ride this again? yes definitely!

please note there is a *dead pig* on this trail yuk!
