Jun 11, 2018 Mountain Hero Trail Report

Did a quick clear-out of the single track section of mountain hero last Friday to tree/snow line. Took out three large trees and brushed back low hanging branches and small trees. No dirt work. Close to treeline the trail is quite wet from snowmelt and there is runoff coming down the trail. Ideally there would be some drainage work done later in the summer but it's a long haul up with pulaskis and shovels. Lots of drifted snow at treeline, won't be rideable over the top for a few weeks yet. The new creek ride-around built at the bottom by S2S last year is holding up well, and the brushwork done last year has kept visibility good and meant minimal work needed on the lower section. Only spot of concern is the tram cables. Would be good to find a long-term solution for keeping them over or under the trail, not across it.
