Description:
EDIT: There is apparently one lookout on this trail with at least partial views to 5 lakes, although it wasn't clearly signed & is easy to miss - see Andrew's photo with description of how to find it. Note trail closely follows a barbed wire fence for a good distance adjacent private property so take care in this section, only really an issue if riding in the reverse direction.

Go ahead and share coordinates of the mysterious "5 Lakes Lookout" then, or name the 5 lakes you can supposedly see from this trail labelled "5 Lakes Lookout". There are great lookouts just off OMGE & Dogwood, but we didn't see anything worth noting on "5 Lakes Lookout" trail except a barbed wire fence.

Rode this trail yesterday, and yes, there is a 5 lake lookout. It has 3 short grunt climbs, cleanable (got 2 out of 3), and a tech grunt climb to the look out, which is mid way up the trail and a short out and back (cleaned it!). Typically, I climb 007 and Go East, and descent 5 Lakes, but decided to mix it up. Every thing in good shape.

Please send me a "Hello" empty note at [email protected] The lakes that you will see are: Mahoney Lake to the West, Sleeping Waters, also to the West, but a wee bit closer (your side of the road), Green Lake to the NW, Skaha and Okanagan Lakes to the north. Perhaps you can just post an image of the map to the viewpoint in a ride log for other future users to see. Having completed the "5LL" trail there certainly weren't any viewpoints of Skaha or Okanagan Lakes directly along the trail, the other lakes were barely visible through trees. We really enjoyed the trails and appreciate the work that has gone into developing maintaining them, "Go East Old Man" in particular was an awesome trail, but we feel "5LL" should come with a warning for MTBers (barbed wire fence) or be changed to "uphill only".

Look at the image that I just uploaded to the gallery... And the barbed wire fence? That's private property. The mountains around here are full of barbed wire fences, and we have no control over their use... If you are careful, you won't brush up against the few spots where it appears. Myself and loads of riders have ridden past it dozens upon dozens of times without incident.

I’m not sure which route you hiked, but you did not visit the 5- Lakes Look-off…. I’ve been there on 50+ occasions and am one of the route’s maintainers. I was onsite at 5LL yesterday, and yes, I looked at five lakes.
