Description:
The middle 1.5 miles of Arcadia is experiencing it's seasonal bloom of locust and ferns. We had a wet winter, this trail is east facing and enjoys ample AZ sun. There are some spots where ferns obscure the trail and there are some overgrown tunnel sections. Nothing to worry about but good to have managed expectations.

Why? The Forest Service only allows very limited work with power tools April-Sept given Spotted Owl Mating season. SDMB is working to schedule some time in Mid July to get 2 days of clearing in the burn scar where the thickest vegetation is and the least impact to wild life as the trees are mostly burned.

SDMB appreciates your patience and understanding. Believe it or not in fall 2024 the entire 5.5 miles of this trail was cleared. It's a tremendous effort to keep trails open in burn scar. Interested in helping? Please reach out to SDMB at [email protected].
