Description:
Heiko's trail to the canyon is in very good shape. The access road is very good now. It is still a 4x4 road, but with improvements this week it's dramatically better than it's ever been. It was brushcut last year to help reduce scratches to your vehicle and this week an excavator improved the surface by providing drainage, removing big rocks and generally smoothing it out. A decent truck can now make it without issues - although it can still be difficult in spots if you meet another vehicle coming the other way.

Heiko's trail itself is in good shape, however Hartley Lake Road has a washout making that end of the trail inaccessible by car from the Fernie side. view
