Description:
Trail in great condition and the landscape is just stunning. Our team did the Heiko's up to Three Sisters summit and then continued on Heiko's through Rocky Road and Mt Fernie, since Island Lake Lodge was closed for a private event. This option was 25kms / 13 hours, 2050m vertical ascend and 2,400m descent. We saw dear, mountain goats, and had a moose right on the trail, luckily she didn't cause any trouble and trotted away. Highly recommended for experienced and well-prepared hikers.

The FTA trail crew has cleared the avalanche debris from the camping area on Heiko's trail and almost all of the snow on the trail has now melted.... view

Heiko’s is currently closed to the Three Sisters and beyond due to a large avalanche and multiple trees down. view
