Description:
Lower snow season and warm spring means Kachess is ahead of schedule but not fully baked yet. Went up the trail, you can get to about 4700' before consistent snow before the meadow. The silver creek trail junction is a good turnaround. Lots of blowdowns, cut 6-8 and moved several more out of some of the fun sections and cleaned up some trail debris here and there but there are at least another dozen that need a chainsaw. Only 1 or 2 are in fun descending sections, there is one key one in the first steep rooty section in a left switchback (when coming down from the alpine) that will surprise you. Creeks are running high as well. I'd give it 2 weeks for the loop.
